$28 Billion BP Oil Spill Settlement*

Beasley Allen, along with the other members of PSC, helped secure a $28 billion settlement in the BP Oil Spill Litigation. As part of that settlement, we helped secure a $2.3 billion settlement for the State of Alabama.

Following the Deepwater Horizon disaster, one of the worst environmental disasters in U.S. history, Alabama sought to recover damages for the widespread economic and environmental impacts caused by the spill.

Jere Beasley, Rhon Jones, and Parker Miller represented the Governor’s Office for the State of Alabama throughout the litigation, helping secure a recovery that provided critical funding for environmental restoration, coastal recovery efforts, and economic development projects across the state.

The settlement remains one of the largest environmental recoveries in American history and a landmark result for Alabama.
