About Dylan
Dylan Martin started his journey at Beasley Allen as a clerical assistant, runner, and law clerk before being promoted to attorney in 2021. He focuses on cases involving business litigation, illegal online gambling, and product defect class actions, specifically automotive defect class actions involving major automobile manufacturers and original equipment suppliers.
In 2023, Dylan was selected to the National Trial Lawyers (NTL) Top 40 Under 40 – Civil Plaintiff, a prestigious recognition awarded to a select group of lawyers for their exceptional skills and qualifications in the legal field.
Dylan’s passion and deep understanding of vehicle systems began at a young age and have been instrumental in identifying, understanding, and litigating complex engineering issues in automotive defect class actions. He’s been involved in several notable cases, including the General Motors Gen IV 5.3L Oil Consumption Litigation, resulting in a rare $102.6 million verdict for the plaintiffs and the classes, an estimated $380 million settlement for Subaru owners with defective fuel pumps, a $287 million settlement for Toyota owners and a $172 million settlement for Mazda owners facing similar issues.
He is an active member of the Alabama State Bar, the American Bar Association, the Montgomery County Bar Association, and the National Trial Lawyers.
Dylan and his wife, Mary Frances Martin, live in Montgomery, Alabama, with their three children, Elizabeth, Beatrice and Brooks, and are active members of The Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Outside of work, Dylan loves spending time outdoors and traveling with his family. In his free time, Dylan loves playing golf and driving his ’74 MGB. Additionally, Dylan is an active member of the YMCA Boys Work Committee, which raises tens of thousands of dollars each year to support the YMCA’s Youth Sports Program.
Education
Dylan graduated from Huntingdon College in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor in communications. He then obtained his law degree from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law in 2021, where he excelled academically and made the dean’s list.
During law school, Dylan showcased his advocacy skills, dominating intra-school competitions, winning the 1L Negotiation Competition and the Henry C. Strickland Negotiation Competition, and earning the title of Best Advocate in both. He was appointed Director of Negotiation for the Cumberland Alternative Dispute Resolution Board and competed on the National Negotiation Team. Dylan won the 2020 ABA Regional Negotiation Competition and was a 2021 ABA National Negotiation Competition Quarterfinalist.
He also contributed to the American Journal of Trial Advocacy as a junior editor and Associate Editor of External Relations.
Since Fall 2021, Dylan has served as an Associate Coach for Cumberland’s National Negotiation Team, leading the team to multiple ABA-sponsored and intermural competition victories. In 2025, Dylan was named Head Coach of Cumberland’s National Negotiation Team, which swept the competition in the 2025 ABA Regional Negotiation Competition and advanced to the National Competition in January 2026.
