In 2020, Ryan received the Alabama State Bar President’s Award for his leadership, including helping launch a hotline to assist individuals with legal questions during COVID‑19 in partnership with the Young Lawyers Section and Volunteer Lawyers Program. He has since earned recognition as a Birmingham Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree and has been named to Lawdragon’s 500 X – The Next Generation, Lawdragon’s 500 Leading Plaintiff Consumer Lawyers, and Mid-South Super Lawyers Rising Stars. He has also been included in Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® in America for his work in mass tort litigation. He was the first to predict the application of product liability law in cases of self-driving car hacking, a groundbreaking insight featured in the Tennessee Law Review.

Ryan has extensive experience in complex legal cases involving joint replacements, dietary supplements, and prescription drugs. He is heavily involved in litigation concerning Ozempic and other GLP-1 medications in the multidistrict litigation (MDL) in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, where he serves on the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee and was appointed to the Plaintiffs’ Executive Committee in the GLP-1 Vision Loss MDL. Ryan also played a key role in the Discovery Committee for an MDL involving acetaminophen in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York. Additionally, he is engaged in cases involving kratom, which has been linked to deaths, seizures, and other severe complications. Ryan has also led oral arguments in various federal and state courts and has authored briefs for the Alabama Supreme Court and New Jersey Supreme Court.

In addition to working on cases, Ryan leads the Summer Associate Program at Beasley Allen. This job lets him guide young lawyers and help shape the firm’s future.

He is an active member of several prestigious legal organizations. Ryan is the Immediate Past President of the Alabama State Bar’s Young Lawyers Section and participated in the Leadership Forum Class 17. His involvement extends to various task forces, including the Helping Heroes in Healthcare Task Force (2020-2021), the Membership Relations Task Force as Co-Chair (2019-2020), and the Legal Food Frenzy Task Force (2023-2024). Within the Alabama Association for Justice, he contributes to the Amicus Curiae Committee and is the President of the Emerging Leaders Executive Board. Additionally, he is part of the American Association for Justice, engaging with the Preemption Law Litigation Group and the Ozempic/GLP-1 RA Litigation Group. Ryan was also elected President of the Birmingham Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section, where he will serve as President in 2027, and is a member of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model’s State Rules Project.

Ryan was born in Birmingham, Alabama, while his father was attending law school, which immersed him in the legal profession from an early age. In his free time, Ryan loves traveling and spending time with his wife, Kara, and their two Bernedoodles, Harper and Sloane. He is an avid golfer and also enjoys playing tennis and watching college football. Additionally, Ryan has coached the Saint James School trial team for the YMCA Youth Judicial competition and is actively involved in the YMCA Boys Work Committee, where he helps raise funds for kids’ football programs.

Ryan furthered his education at Faulkner University’s Jones School of Law, earning his J.D. in 2017. While there, he became an active member of the Faulkner Law Review and the Board of Advocates. His involvement in these prestigious groups enhanced his understanding of the law, sharpened his critical thinking skills, and deepened his knowledge of legal principles.
