About Margaret

Dr. Margaret Thompson joined Beasley Allen in 2016. She currently focuses on the talcum powder litigation.

With over 25 years of experience in the medical field, Margaret brings unmatched insight and compassion to everything she does. As a former OBGYN, she’s earned top honors like Texas Monthly’s Super Doctor and Duke University’s Outstanding Surgical Medical Resident. Her leadership and innovation were also recognized when she was named Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young.

After stepping away from clinical practice in 2008, Margaret transitioned into law, consulting on complex issues related to obstetrics, reproductive law, and medical device regulation. Her mission? To advocate fiercely for women, especially those affected by talcum powder exposure.

Margaret has also developed community health programs that connect physicians and patients in meaningful ways, always with a focus on delivering high-quality, affordable care. Her unique blend of medical and legal experience allows her to champion women’s health from every angle.

Margaret attended Duke University School of Medicine, earning her medical degree in 1978. She went on to build a thriving private practice in Austin, Texas.

Driven by a passion for advocacy and public health, she later earned her law degree from the University of Texas School of Law and a master’s in public health policy from UT Austin in 2008.
