About Leighton
Leighton Johnson began her career at Beasley Allen as a law clerk before being promoted to attorney in 2024. She currently focuses on cases involving Kratom, ultra-processed foods, and child sexual exploitation and abuse facilitated through Roblox and similar platforms.
Passionate about serving others, Leighton understands the importance of the behind-the-scenes work required to achieve successful client outcomes and has a particular strength in legal research and writing, which she views as the foundation of sound case strategy and effective advocacy. Her writing has proven instrumental in cases she works on.
Of all the cases she works on, the Roblox litigation is especially meaningful to Leighton. For her, it’s about more than a lawsuit—it’s a chance to stand up for children and push for real change in an industry she believes has avoided accountability for too long. That sense of purpose drives the care and attention she brings to every case. Earlier in her career, she also worked on cases involving acetaminophen, Depo‑Provera, and GLP‑1 drugs, and she continues to support ongoing litigation focused on gaming addiction.
Leighton is an active member of both the Birmingham Bar Association Young Lawyers Section and the Alabama State Bar Young Lawyers Section.
A native of Vestavia Hills, Alabama, Leighton is deeply rooted in her community. Outside the office, she finds balance through spending time with family and friends, cooking, antiquing, and is an active member of Vestavia Hills Methodist Church.
Education
Leighton graduated cum laude from the University of Alabama before earning her law degree from Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law, where she received academic excellence awards in Alabama Law Practice and Procedure, Labor and Employment Law, Employment Benefits and ERISA, and Veterans Law. Prior to law school, she gained valuable experience working at the Mobile County Public Defender’s Office.
