Beasley Allen lawyers and staff continue holiday donations in the River Region

Each year Beasley Allen lawyers and staff come together to give needed items to River Region agencies. This year team members made holiday donations in support of four agencies providing help in our community year-round.

The Family Sunshine Center (FSC) is a safe haven for victims of domestic violence in the River Region. Their mission is to end family violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Beasley Allen lawyers and staff donated money and food for Thanksgiving meals as well as food to sustain families being served through the school break. The Mid-Alabama Coalition for the Homeless (MACH) began as a group of like-minded organizations working together to secure eligibility for homeless continuum of care funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Today MACH operates as a nonprofit corporation working to secure HUD funding and provide support and resources for organizations providing services for the homeless in the River Region. Beasley Allen Law Firm recently donated 330 blankets to MACH representing the 330 homeless people in the River Region. Find out more about their history and good work by visiting midalhomeless.org.

Capitol Hill Healthcare is a long-term care facility located in downtown Montgomery. Beasley Allen staff and attorneys have been providing Christmas gifts for residents for many years. Although this year did not allow for our usual visit to distribute gifts to Capitol Hill residents, donations were made to fulfill the wish lists of those who call Capitol Hill home. The mission of Capitol Hill Healthcare is to be quality-driven leaders in health care services, striving to exceed expectations while maintaining integrity in a caring environment. Family Guidance Center (FGC), Success By 6 is a partnership of parents, businesses, schools, and community leaders working to ensure all children age 0-6 develop emotional, social, cognitive, and physical skills needed to succeed in school and life. The program helps families who do not otherwise have the means to support their educational needs. Beasley Allen principal Kendall Dunson and his wife, Judge Samarria Dunson, regularly lead the annual toy drive for students being served by the Success By 6 program as well as siblings. Beasley Allen lawyers provided gifts for those families in need again this year. “For many years, Beasley Allen staff and attorneys have come together to give gifts, necessities such as food and clothing and money to those in need,” said Beasley Allen Managing Attorney Tom Methvin. “While we were not able to deliver goods or spend time with children or the elderly as they opened their gifts, it was just as fulfilling to know agencies such as these continue to support our neighbors in need. I am proud of our lawyers and staff who took time to shop for items or donated to such a worthy cause.”
