About Ryan

Ryan Beattie joined Beasley Allen in 2016 and currently focuses on litigation surrounding the link between talcum powder products and ovarian cancer and the connection between hair relaxer usage and both uterine and ovarian cancer.

Ryan is dedicated to making a positive impact on people’s lives by helping them live safer and better. His commitment and experience have earned him a spot on the Midsouth Super Lawyers Rising Stars list every year since 2019, an honor given to the top young attorneys under 40 or those with less than 10 years of practice.

With a strong commitment to product safety, Ryan has played a key role in winning significant verdicts against Johnson & Johnson in talcum powder lawsuits. Ryan was part of five trials where juries awarded a total of $725 million in damages, holding the company liable for injuries or wrongful deaths linked to their talc-containing products. These cases highlighted that Johnson & Johnson knew about the cancer risks but failed to warn consumers. Notable verdicts include $72 million for Jacqueline Fox’s family, $55 million for Gloria Ristesund, $70 million for Deborah Giannecchini, $110 million for Lois Slemp, and $417 million for Eva Echeverria.

He is actively involved in the legal community as a member of the Alabama State Bar, the Alabama State Bar Young Lawyers Section, and the American Association for Justice. He also serves on the executive board for the March of Dimes in Alabama.

Ryan and his wife, Heidi, live in Montgomery, Alabama, with their twins, Ryker and Layla. The family loves spending time with their dogs, Max and Peyton. They are active members of St. James United Methodist Church. In his free time, Ryan enjoys outdoor activities like golfing, hunting, and fishing, and he is a big fan of the Nebraska Huskers. He is also involved in Ducks Unlimited and the Delta Upsilon fraternity.

Education

Ryan graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 2009. He then went on to earn his law degree (J.D.) from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 2013.
