The Plaintiffs’s Steering Committee for the BP oil spill consolidated litigation will host a free one-day conference open to lawyers and CPAs. Members of the PSC will explain the details of the settlement and review all the information attorneys and accountants who represent businesses and individuals need to know to determine if their clients have a claim and how to file such a claim in the settlement program. The conference is called BP Settlement Recovery Conference: How the Settlement Provides for Recovery to Businesses and Individuals who Experienced a Decline in Revenue in 2010. It will be held in eight different locations. Registration is free.
According to program information, the conference will “detail the financial formulas to determine how businesses and individuals, even those far from the coast, become eligible for payment.” Those in attendance also will “learn about the criteria for filing claims and hear first-hand from the individuals that obtained the settlement how it will work and the very broad range of businesses and individuals.”
