A lawsuit has been filed arising out of a natural gas explosion that killed a home owner, Renald Ferrovecchio, 43, who died when his home in Austin, Texas, exploded on January 9th. The suit, filed by his family, seeks damages against Texas Gas Service and Oneok and H&T Utilities. Texas Gas Service blames the drought and shifting soil for the explosion.

The decedent had reported the smell of gas weeks before the deadly blast. A crew from the Defendant company had come out to investigate and fix the problem. Neighbors say they smelled gas coming from the house as early as October of last year.
