fish frey 2009 Beasley Allen says Thank you to area law enforcement and their familiesMONTGOMERY, ALA. (April 17, 2009) – Beasley Allen took a moment this week to say “thank you” to the dedicated men and women who devote their lives to serve and protect the public. Personnel from all Montgomery area law enforcement agencies, and their families, were invited to attend the annual Fish Fry event on Thursday, April 16, from 5-7 p.m. at the historic Train Shed in downtown Montgomery. Featured speakers included Susan Moss, executive director of Central Alabama CrimeStoppers, Monica Jordan, advocate on behalf of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (M.A.D.D.) and the State of Alabama Crime Victims Commission, and District Attorney Ellen Brooks.

At the event, Beasley Allen presented a donation of $2,500 each to the Montgomery Public Safety Insurance Fund (PSIF) and the Alabama State Troopers Association. The PSIF was established by Montgomery area businesses to fund life insurance and accidental death insurance policies for every firefighter, police officer and sheriff’s deputy on active duty in Montgomery. Donations to the Alabama State Trooper Association funds life insurance for Alabama State Troopers, and also is used to purchase Trooper Teddy Bears, which are used to comfort children involved in traumatic events or children hospitalized during the holiday season.

More than 200 law enforcement personnel and their family members attended this year’s Fish Fry event, which is hosted annually by Beasley Allen. The delicious meal was provided by the Farmer’s Market Café.
