Four of Beasley Allen’s attorneys were selected for inclusion on the 2008 Alabama Super Lawyers list of the best attorneys in the state. The magazine, published in partnership with Law & Politics and Business Alabama magazines, uses a multi-step evaluation process to select lawyers for its “best of” list, incorporating peer recognition and professional achievement. Only 5 percent of the total lawyers in Alabama are listed in Super Lawyers.
Representing Beasley Allen on the list are Founding Shareholder Jere Beasley, who was selected in the area of Personal Injury Plaintiff: Products; Thomas Methvin, Managing Partner, in the area of Consumer Law; and Greg Allen, Shareholder, in the area of Personal Injury Plaintiff: Products.
The selection process involves a statewide survey of lawyers for creation of a peer-nominated candidate pool and an independent candidate search, evaluation of the candidates by the publisher, a peer evaluation of the candidates by practice area, and a final selection by the publisher based on practice area and firm size.
In addition to being named to the Super Lawyers 2008 list, Jere Beasley was selected for a special profile in the magazine, under the headline “For the People.” The article highlights Beasley’s work as an advocate for the common man against the harmful practices of corporate giants, particularly in the areas of personal injury and fraud, calling him “one of the country’s most formidable trial attorneys.”
The article also spotlights Beasley’s political experience as Lieutenant Governor, and the 33 days he served as Governor beginning in May 1972 when then Gov. George Wallace was shot.
