WSFA 12 News interviews Jere Beasley about 18-wheeler wrongful death lawsuit

| Serious Injuries, Trucking

Beasley Allen Principal & Founder Jere Beasley spoke to WSFA 12 News regarding the recent filing of a wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of the family of David Colley. Colley, a Montgomery Police officer killed in a collision with an 18-wheeler, was responding to an emergency call while on duty when his vehicle was struck by the heavy truck. After confirming the truck driver was at fault for a number of negligent violations, including attempts to conceal his duty status and hours of service, the law firm agreed to file suit against the trucking company, TUI Express Inc.

“He was fatigued. He was over his hours. He had played around with his log book,” Beasley explained to WSFA regarding the driver of the 18-wheeler. “We found he had violated his own rules and regulations that the trucking company has to follow and this was a routine sort of thing.”

The complaint is filed in the Circuit Court of Montgomery County, Ala., Darian Colley v. TUI Express Incorporated et al, 03-CV-2015-900868.00.
