Vaping: A ‘fast pass’ to addiction

| Medical Devices

Vaping is a “fast pass” to addiction, Beasley Allen lawyer Joseph VanZandt recently told ABC32 News. Joseph is handling cases filed against vape product giant JUUL and other vape device marketers, alleging the companies targeted minors to create a new generation addicted to their products. “They made JUUL to where it tastes great, goes down smooth, and so a kid who has never smoked before can pick up a JUUL and smoke a whole pod on day one.” An average JUUL pod contains about as much nicotine as a whole pack of cigarettes. JUUL and other vaping companies produced vape liquids in fruity flavors that appeal to kids. Often, young people don’t realize the products contain nicotine, or that nicotine is addictive. Vaping has been linked to seizures, strokes and severe lung injuries and deaths.
