Beasley Allen founding shareholder Jere L. Beasley spoke with WAKA CBS8 News regarding the firm’s recent lawsuit filed against LifeSouth Community Blood Centers. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of Howard Midkiff, who allegedly contracted HIV as a result of receiving contaminated blood during open heart surgery. The lawsuit alleges the blood was supplied by LifeSouth, and claims LifeSouth was negligent in screening, handling and testing procedures that could have prevented the blood’s dissemination. Beasley says investigation into the case will dig deeper into donation and testing procedures.
Jere Beasley, the founding member of Beasley Allen Law Firm, has practiced law as an advocate for victims of wrongdoing since 1962. He was the lead Beasley Allen attorney in the record $11.9 billion award against ExxonMobil Corp. on behalf of the state of Alabama.
