Beasley Allen lawyer Gibson Vance talks to WSFA about Seat Check Saturday event

| Serious Injuries, Automotive

Beasley Allen lawyer Gibson Vance, who hosts the weekly program The Beasley Allen Report, visited WSFA for another purpose today – to discuss the upcoming Seat Check Saturday event, set for Sept. 19. This annual free event provides safety experts who will ensure that child safety seats are correctly installed in the vehicles of parents and caregivers. Child safety seats save lives, but only if they are properly installed, and the correct size for the child. Too often, well-meaning caregivers have safety seats that are not installed correctly, putting infants, toddlers and children at risk. “It can be tragic,” Vance says. “We know that seven kids die every day in America because the seat protection device is incorrectly installed. It’s one of the leading causes of death for infants.” The event will be held at The Shoppes at EastChase in Montgomery, Ala., from 9 a.m.-noon. There is no cost, but reservations are recommended to make sure you have a chance to see a safety professional.
