WSFA12 News reporter Bethany Wales visited the sixth annual Beasley Allen Legal Conference, held in Montgomery Dec. 6-7, 2012. The largest event of its kind in the state, the conference is open to all Alabama lawyers in private practice. This year, those in attendance heard from RSA CEO Dr. David Bronner, and newly elected Alabama Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore. Dr. Bronner said it is vital for lawyers to understand the global perspective, which affects what happens in Washington, and ultimately what happens in Alabama. Judge Moore addressed the vital importance of funding the judiciary, and whether we are an independent judiciary – “fact or fiction?” He said he hoped he could share with lawyers what judging is about and how it can be improved. Bethany also talked with Beasley Allen Shareholder Greg Allen, who said the conference is a great opportunity to meet face-to-face with lawyers the firm works with every day. A special emphasis at the conference this year is the BP Oil Spill litigation and settlement.

A positive manner
Several years ago my brother and sister -in-law were in a terrible car accident. My sister in-law was paralyzed from her neck down. Beasley Allen handled the case for my brother to see to it that my sister-in-law received the proper and necessary care she needed. I appreciate the attorneys and staff of Beasley Allen in handling this matter quickly and in a positive manner. Good job Beasley Allen!!
