BP’s appeal overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court, Beasley Allen founder Jere Beasley speaks to WSFA

| Toxic Exposure, Environmental Disasters

The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled the BP oil spill class settlement is final, ending BP’s attempts to overturn the agreement that the oil giant itself helped draft and approved. “This was a monumental result for persons all across the Gulf Coast,” Jere Beasley, Principal & Founder of Beasley Allen said. “The Supreme Court did the right thing by rejecting BP’s appeal and we think that it’s extremely important for the people of this state.” Beasley Allen represents more than 2,000 clients injured by the oil spill. Although BP had previously estimated that it would cost roughly $7.8 billion to resolve the claims, WSFA reports now the company believes there is no reliable estimate for how much it may pay out.

Professional and appropriate manner

My claim was handled in a very professional and appropriate manner. I was very pleased with my outcome and that the claim was resolved without having to go through a trial.
