Beasley Allen Shareholder Gibson Vance visited with WSFA TV-12 to talk about the firm's support of the Joy to Life Foundation, which works to prevent breast cancer, serving 29 counties in Alabama. Among its services, Joy to Life provides free mammograms for women who cannot afford this often life-saving early diagnostic tool.

In his role as President of the American Association for Justice, Beasley Allen Shareholder Gibson Vance keeps an eye on legislation before Congress. In this video, he expresses his concern about H.R. 5, which is currently pending in the U.S. House of Representatives. The bill would place a cap on damages even in wrongful death cases at $250,000. This means companies that place dangerous, defective or otherwise harmful drugs, devices or products in the stream of commerce would not be held to a reasonable standard of liability. Sadly, for many corporations, it is primarily the fear of taking a hit in their bottom line – their profit – that spurs them to do the right thing. This legislation would free them from that burden, and put everyday people in danger. Please call your Congressional representative and ask them to vote “NO” on H.R. 5.

This event was presented by The Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies in Washington, D.C. Vance presented his remarks on Saturday, Nov. 20, and participated in a panel discussion on the topic "Ideas for Structural Change: Term Limits, Reviving the Right to Civil Jury Trial, Moving Administrative Law Judges to Article III, and Others."

Ashley Paige of CBS-8 interviewed Gibson Vance about the great Strides walk. Beasley Allen has sponsored this walk for 5 years. On May 18th, at 2:00, the Great Strides walk will be held at the Montgomery Zoo. About 1,000 kids a year are diagnosed with this disease. By walking and raising money, we are one step closer to finding a cure to Cystic Fibrosis.

Gibson Vance touches on several different subjects in this interview such as the lawsuit against Exxon Mobile oil spill 19 years ago when Joseph Hazelwood crashed the ship in Alaska causing an environmental disaster.
