How will GM bankruptcy affect victims harmed in crashes
(00:02:26)
Beasley Allen shareholder J. Cole Portis talks with WSFA about the consequences of the impending bankruptcy of General Motors, as it affects people injured by defective GM automobiles. Thousands of crash victims stand to lose their right to a day in court against the auto manufacturer if bankruptcy status wipes out the company's responsibility for pending lawsuits. The video also features Shona Scott, who is a quadriplegic as a result of a GM auto crash. She was injured when the roof of her vehicle caved in during an accident. Portis is asking GM to set up a fund to care for the victims injured as a result of their defective products.
