GM bankruptcy could leave victims of defective vehicles with no legal recourse

(00:02:25)

This special report on the CBS Evening News examines the plight of people and families who hope to recover damages against General Motors for catastrophic injuries or deaths caused by GM vehicles. In its bankruptcy proceedings, the company would not be liable for any claims filed prior to the bankruptcy declaration. Victims are calling for GM to set aside funds for those who can prove they are victims of defective vehicles, so they can have their day in court.
