Four Way Plant Farm, Inc., McDonald Construction Company, Inc., and Walker Logging Company, Inc., filed a lawsuit against the National Council on Compensation Insurance, National Workers Compensation Reinsurance Pool, and several insurance companies. The case involved allegations that the defendants violated the Alabama Ant-Trust Law by agreeing to fix the price for servicing assigned risk policies for workers compensation insurance at unreasonably high and non-competitive levels. The case was ultimately resolved and serves as an example of how the court system can help both individuals and businesses. The case resulted in a better business environment for those companies purchasing workers compensation insurance in Alabama.
