October, 1999 – In this case, our client was in a bucket truck working on power lines. He was shocked by the power lines and lost his entire right arm and the use of his left arm. As a result of this, he couldn’t feed himself or even open a soft drink can without assistance. Defendant’s competitors put a plastic control handle on their bucket trucks as a retrofit in order to stop this type of electrocution from happening. This defendant did not do such. If it had, our client would not have lost his limbs. The jury awarded a substantial verdict to teach the Defendant not to put profit over the safety of people using its equipment.
