Beasley Allen aims to protect people and property from toxic chemicals. Toxic chemical exposure may occur over a long period of time at low doses, or serious injury may occur in a single incident involving a high concentration of chemicals or other toxins. We are especially concerned about severe lung injury or lung disease resulting from chemical or other toxic exposure, or a cancer diagnosis related to toxic exposure. This may occur in the workplace or as a result of environmental exposure from hazardous chemicals.

For example, someone who has worked in industries such as petroleum, rubber, railroad work or painting has a high likelihood of chronic exposure to benzene. Those in the agriculture industry may be exposed to glyphosate, the main ingredient in weedkiller Roudup, which has been linked to the development of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma.

Toxic exposure can also happen as a result of environmental disasters such as the BP Oil Spill or the Tennessee Valley Authority Coal Ash Spill, which released over a billion gallons of coal ash sludge into the surrounding community. Even a community’s water supply can become contaminated by nearby industries and result in toxic exposure.

Toxic exposure can cause devastating health effects and leave victims with mounting medical bills, and Beasley Allen aims to hold those responsible for toxic exposure accountable.
