Nearly 128,000 bottles of Tylenol have been recalled by manufacturer Johnson & Johnson after consumers reported a moldy odor in the product. This is just the latest in a long string of over-the-counter medication recalls by J&J for similar problems.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission in cooperation with Munchkin Inc, of North Hills, Calif., today announced a voluntary recall of the Bathtub Subs product, a battery-operated bathtub submarine toy. The toy was recalled because the intake valve on the bottom of the submarine toy can suck up loose skin, posing laceration hazard to children.
Women who used hormone replacement therapy (HRT) not only put themselves at risk for breast cancer, they are also at greater risk of developing more severe forms of the disease and at an increased risk of dying, according to a study published in the Oct. 20 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association. The study contradicts previous studies that showed while HRT increased a woman's risk of breast cancer, the disease was often less aggressive and the tumors more treatable.

Two companies that manufacture jogging strollers, Tike Tech and Valco Baby, have announced voluntary recall on several models of their strollers due to a strangulation hazard. The recalls include the Tike Tech Single City X3 and X3 Sport Jogging Strollers, and the Valco Baby Tri Mode Single and Twin Jogging Strollers.
Global manufacturing firm Whitesell Corp. has evoked harsh words from the U.S. Labor Secretary Hilda Solis for a multitude of safety and health violations discovered by federal investigators in the company's two northwest Alabama facilities. According to Solis, the violations created dangerous conditions for Whitesell's employees, one of whom had his hand severed by a hydraulic forging press earlier this year.
