C. Gibson Vance, a Troy University alumnus, has been named to the University's Board of Trustees by Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley. Vance is a shareholder in the Montgomery law firm of Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles, P.C.

The new president of the Montgomery County Bar Association wants to increase and to better publicize charitable work by the bar's members. University of Alabama linebacker and Eufaula native, Courtney Upshaw, has joined forces with other Eufaula, Ala., residents to establish "The 41 Fund," to benefit victims of the recent tornado disaster that affected much of the state on Wednesday, April 27. The fund is named for Courtney's jersey number 41. Donations can be made to "The 41 Fund" at any branch of BankTrust.
