Brantwood, Community

Tom Methvin, Beasley Allen’s managing shareholder, was recently named President of the Board of Directors for Brantwood Children’s Home.

Brantwood has been serving children in Montgomery and the River Region for more than 90 years, helping neglected and abused children by providing them a home and supervising their education, health and social adjustment into the community. Brantwood currently serves children ranging in age from 10-21, including transitional programs to help older youths move from dependent care to independent living situations. More than just a roof over their heads, Brantwood provides youngsters torn from their traditional family through often traumatic circumstances a place to belong.

“I just feel special about working at Brantwood with these children,” Methvin said. “It just gives me a good feeling to help. An institution like this is so vital to our community, and there are so many hurting kids out there – kids who through no fault of their own don’t have the same chance that other kids have. Without places like Brantwood, they’d have no place to turn.”
