BMW has announced a recall of about 1.3 million cars worldwide for a problem with a battery cable cover in the trunk, which may have been improperly installed. The recall affects 5-series and 6-series BMWs in the United States, which includes about 367,000 vehicles. BMW says the faulty cable cover may chafe the battery cable, which could lead to electrical problems and possibly result in fire.
Nissan North America has issued a recall of more than 79,000 vehicles for possible fuel tank leakage. This may increase the risk of a vehicle fire. Vehicles involved in the recall are certain 2011-2012 models of the Infiniti M sedan, the Infiniti QX sport-utility vehicle (SUV) and the Nissan Juke crossover vehicle.

The threaded end of the rack rod ball joint can break and the ball joint can become displaced, causing the driver to lose steering control. This can result in a crash.
Ford Motor Company will recall 128,616 2010 and 2011 model-year Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan sedans over a flaw that could cause the wheels to fall of the vehicles while in motion, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced Thursday. The sedans affected by the recall come with a 17-inch steel wheel design that may create excessive force on the studs that fasten the wheels to the vehicle, causing them to break over time.
Nissan Motor Co. has announced a recall of more than 7,000 of its 2011 Rogue crossover vehicles in the United States for possible problems with the power steering, which may cause it to fail.
Two automakers recently issued vehicle recalls for problems with vehicle brakes. The latest recall involves motorcycles as well as cars. Subaru of America is recalling nearly 32,000 Legacy, Outback and Impreza models from the 2010 model year. The recall does not involve the WRX/STI models of the Impreza. Honda Motor Co. is recalling 126,000 GL-1800 motorcycles from the 2001-2012 model years.
Harley Davidson Inc. has issued a recall on more than 250,000 motorcycles to fix a problem with the rear brake-light switch. The recall affects certain touring motorcycles, as well as trikes and models from the manufacturer's Custom Vehicle Operations (CVO). Model years affected by the recall include 2009-2012.
Hyundai Motor Company has announced the recall of certain model year 2007-2008 Hyundai Veracruz and Hyundai Santa Fe vehicles for possible defects in the airbag systems.
