Cambell's Soup is recalling 35,000 cases - about 15 million pounds - of its longtime favorite SpaghettiOs in the United States because the meatballs in the canned food product may be undercooked, which if consumed could cause gastrointestinal problems such as nausea and vomiting, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Blacksmith Brands announced the voluntary recall this week of all lots of PediaCare Multi-Symptom Cold 4-ounce, PediaCare Long Acting Cough 4-ounce, PediCare Decongestant 4-ounce, and PediaCare Allergy and Cold 4-ounce. The products were made at McNeil Consumer Healthcare-PPC, Inc., a Johnson & Johnson Company, at McNeil's Fort Washington, Penn., plant. The products are sold exclusively in the United States. This recall is a precautionary measure, as the medicines were manufactured in the same plant deemed unsafe by the FDA last month in connection with a recall of children's Tylenol and Motrin.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), in cooperation with Family Dollar Stores Inc., of Charlotte, N.C., is announcing the voluntary recall of 1.8 million toy dart gun sets, due to an aspiration hazard. CPSC and Family Dollar have received reports of two asphyxiation deaths involving a 9-year-old boy in Chicago, Ill. and a 10-year-old boy in Milwaukee, Wis.
More romaine lettuce is being recalled today while federal investigators work to pinpoint the source of an E. coli 0145 outbreak that has sickened 19 people in Michigan, New York and Ohio. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Oklahoma-based Vaughn Foods announced it is recalling lettuce with "use by" dates of May 9 and May 10.
Freshway Foods of Sidney, Ohio, announced May 6 a voluntary recall of certain romaine lettuce products because of the possible connection between the recalled romaine lettuce and an outbreak of foodborne disease. FDA supports this action by Freshway Foods. The outbreak, which is still under investigation, involves cases in Michigan, Ohio, and New York of illnesses due to infection with E. coli O145, a harmful bacteria. The lettuce has been sold in 23 states and the District of Columbia. The recalled product was sold under the Freshway and Imperial Sysco brands.
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, in cooperation with Tropical Bedding Mfg., today announced a voluntary recall of mattress sets that fail to meet mandatory federal open flame standards. These mattress sets pose a fire hazard to consumers. Consumers should stop using recalled products immediately unless otherwise instructed.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), in cooperation with Eastwind Industries, Inc., announces a voluntary recall of Kuuma IR Stow and Go Grills. The recall affects about 4,600 unites, which were manufactured in Thailand and are sold exclusively at West Marine stores. If the fuel container is not completely threaded on the regulator during installation, the propane tanks can leak fuel, posing a burn hazard to consumers.
Several brands of over-the-counter eye drops and nasal drops are being recalled by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) because the manufacturing facility where the products were made cannot assure the sterility of the products. If not sterile, these products have the potential to cause eye infections, which may be sight threatening.
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Health Canada (HC), in cooperation with Infantino LLC, of San Diego, Calif. are announcing a free replacement program for the Infantino "SlingRider" and "Wendy Bellissimo" infant slings. One million of these infant slings are being recalled in the United States and 15,000 are being recalled in Canada. CPSC advises consumers to immediately stop using these slings for infants younger than four months of age due to a risk of suffocation and contact Infantino for a free replacement product.
