Nissan Motor Company has announced a worldwide recall of 2.14 million vehicles because of an ignition problem that may result in the vehicle stalling. This is the manufacturer’s third-largest recall ever.
In North America, the recall involves 770,000 vehicles. In the U.S. and Canada, affected vehicles are the 2004 through 2006 Armada and Infiniti QX 56 sport-utility vehicles, Titan pickup trucks and 2005 to 2006 model Frontier pickups and Pathfinder and Xterra SUVs.
The defective part, known as the relay, may cause the engine to stall and make it unable to be resstarted. Nissan says no accidents have been reported linked to the defect.
Cars affected by this recall in Japan include the March, Note and Tilda compact cars.
