Nestle USA’s Confections & Snacks Division has initiated a voluntary recall of its Nestle(R) RAISINETS(R) Fun Size Bags (10 oz.), which may contain undeclared peanuts. People who have allergies or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the affected products. Three complaints have been received to date, but no serious injuries or deaths. Nestle is recalling these products “out of an abundance of caution.”
The recalled product has a production code of 02015748/UPC number 2800010255. Product with this production code was distributed only in the U.S. to Target, Shop Rite and Don Quixote retail stores. According to the company, the package is labeled with a precautionary statement that the candy is “made on equipment that also processes peanuts,” but that the product may actually contain some peanuts that should not be in there and that are not declared on the label.
Customers are asked to contact Nestle Consumer Services directly at 1-800-478-5670 for a full refund, and to discard any remaining packages. Consumers should NOT return this product to retailers. Questions about this recall can be directed to Nestle Consumer Services at the same 800-number as listed above, or by email to nestlecandy@casupport.com.
No other Nestle products are impacted by this recall.
