Sandoz: 'Be greedy and take no prisoners'

A Montgomery County jury found Sandoz Pharmaceuticals, Inc., guilty of Medicaid fraud on Feb. 24, and ordered the manufacturer to pay the State of Alabama $28.4 million in compensatory damages and $50 million in punitive damages. Documents presented in the state's case against Sandoz indicate a long history of inflating prices on its generic drugs to increase its market share, defrauding the state's Medicaid system. During the trial, several critical documents were shown to jurors, which prove Sandoz intentionally defrauded the state.

Dee Miles named as Beasley Allen's Litigator of the Year

2nd Annual Beasley Allen Retreat a great success

More than 900 attorneys attended the second annual Beasley Allen Retreat at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel and Spa at the Convention Center Friday, Nov. 21 and Saturday, Nov. 22. The retreat provides continuing education credits and is open to all Alabama lawyers in private practice.

MONTGOMERY, ALA. - Beasley Allen law firm will hosts its second annual Beasley Allen Retreat at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel and Spa at the Convention Center beginning Friday, Nov. 21 and continuing on Saturday, Nov. 22. The retreat provides continuing education credits and is open to all Alabama lawyers in private practice. More than 900 attorneys from throughout the state are expected to attend.

Beasley Allen sponsors YMCA team

Cops for Christmas

The Montgomery police department's "Cops for Christmas" Golf Tournament has benefited over five hundred children in the past four year. All proceeds go directly to underprivileged children and assist in making Christmas wishes come true. A Banquet is also held at the end of each year where all children attend and are treated to a Christmas Dinner and all gifts are presented. This program has made a tremendous impact on the Montgomery community. Each participant should know that they are doing their part in putting smiles on children's faces and to make the Holiday Season special.

Beasley Allen attorney works to improve diversity in legal profession

Navan Ward, an attorney with Montgomery, Ala.-based firm Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles, P.C., recently accepted a national First Place Award of Achievement from the American Bar Association on behalf of the Alabama State Bar Young Lawyers Section (YLS). The award was presented in recognition of an outstanding program developed by the bar's YLS to address the shortage of minorities in the legal profession and increase diversity in the bar.
