C. Gibson Vance, a Troy University alumnus, has been named to the University's Board of Trustees by Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley. Vance is a shareholder in the Montgomery law firm of Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles, P.C.

ASB Young Lawyers Section presents $1,000 grant to Volunteer Lawyers Program

Navan Ward, Jr., President of the Alabama State Bar’s Young Lawyers Section, presented a check for $1,000 to representatives of the Alabama State Bar (ASB) Volunteer Lawyers Program (VLP). The money was collected by the Alabama Young Lawyers Section (AL YLS) during its annual fundraising activities. The VLP was chosen in recognition of its work with victims of the devastating 2011 tornados that ripped through much of Northeast Alabama.

Beasley Allen names Jones 'Top Attorney,' recognizes other leading lawyers in firm

The annual recognition is presented to the attorney who demonstrates exceptional professional skill throughout the course of the year and best represents the firm’s ideal of “helping those who need it most.”

Jones School of Law awards first Monica Jordan Law Scholarship

Thomas Goode Jones School of Law, located at Faulkner University, has selected the first recipient for its Monica Jordan Public Interest Law Scholarship. The scholarship is named for Monica Jordan, a Montgomery native, who demonstrated heroic persistence and resolve in the wake of losing her daughter to a domestic violence incident and her son in an automobile accident. The scholarship was established through a partnership between Jones School of Law and the law firm of Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles, P.C. The inaugural scholarship was presented to current first-year law student Sebrina Martin on Wednesday, November 30.

Beasley Allen conference drew nearly 1,300 lawyers downtown

Beasley Allen Law Firm hosted its fifth annual Legal Strategies Conference & Expo at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center Thursday, Nov. 17, and Friday, Nov. 18. The event provides continuing legal education (CLE) credits and is open to all Alabama lawyers in private practice. The conference has grown steadily each year, from about 400 lawyers in 2007 to nearly 1,300 in attendance this year.

Jones School of Law officially opens new Allen Law Center

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (November 15, 2011) – A ribbon cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the grand opening of the new Allen Law Center on the campus of Thomas Goode Jones School of Law, located at Faulkner University in Montgomery, Ala. The new law school facility was named in honor of Jones alumnus J. Greg Allen, a Shareholder at Beasley, Allen, Crow, Methvin, Portis & Miles, P.C.
