Seventh Wii gaming system of Beasley Allen Law Firm “Wii Give Back!” campaign will be presented to Barbour County High School

MONTGOMERY, ALA. (July 27, 2010)  – Beasley Allen Law Firm has selected Barbour County High School as the recipient of the seventh gaming system it will give away in its yearlong “Wii Give Back!” campaign.

The Wii helps people of all ages to improve their physical fitness by combining engaging video games with physical motion using a unique hand-held controller. In fact, the Wii is a central part of a pilot program in Alabama called the Wee Can Fight Obesity Partnership, which aims to fight childhood obesity. The Wii also has been endorsed by the American Heart Association as a tool to encourage sedentary Americans to take the first step toward fitness.

“We are pleased to partner with Barbour County High School to encourage physical fitness among its youth by using the Wii gaming system,” said Tom Methvin, Beasley Allen managing shareholder. “Promoting exercise to fight obesity is an important mission, and the Wii takes something kids like to do anyway – playing video games – and turns it into a tool the community can use.”

Beasley Allen established the Wii Give Back campaign after donating two Wii gaming systems to rehabilitation programs in Alabama last fall. The effort was so well-received that Beasley Allen expanded the program to provide a Wii gaming system to a deserving Alabama charity each month in 2010.

Past recipients of Wii systems in 2009 and 2010 include the Greensboro (Ala.) Recreational Department, CARE House, James M. Barrie Center, Jimmie Hale Mission, Harriet’s House, Camp ASCCA, Brantwood Children’s Home and Common Ground Montgomery.

Charities from throughout the state, including Huntsville, Birmingham, Montgomery, Mobile and Dothan are eligible for the Wii Give Back program. Nominations will be accepted throughout the year on the firm’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/beasleyallen) or by email at public.relations@beasleyallen.com.
