Annual Legal Strategies Conference & Expo is largest event of its kind for lawyers in Alabama
Beasley Allen Law Firm hosted its fourth annual Legal Strategies Conference & Expo at the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa at the Convention Center Friday, Nov. 19, and Saturday, Nov. 20. The event provides continuing legal education (CLE) credits and is open to all Alabama lawyers in private practice. The conference has grown steadily each year, from about 400 lawyers in 2007 to more than 1,400 registered this year.
Practice areas addressed included Product Liability, Mass Torts and Fraud. Special programs included the topic of Legal Ethics. The meeting featured speakers including Beasley Allen Founding Shareholder Jere L. Beasley; Dr. David Bronner, CEO of the Retirement Systems of Alabama; Morris Dees, Founder and Chief Trial Counsel, Southern Poverty Law Center; Judge Charles Price, Judge Joel Dubina; Alyce Spruell, current President, Alabama State Bar; and Tony McLain, General Counsel, Alabama State Bar. John Croyle, founder of the Big Oak Ranch, was the guest speaker at the prayer breakfast Saturday morning.
At the Legal Services Expo, vendors provided demonstrations of products and answered questions about how attorneys can best enhance their practice. The Expo also featured the BeasleyAllen.com Racing ARCA car, and lawyers had a chance to meet driver Grant Enfinger. Legal and community groups including the Alabama State Bar Volunteer Lawyer Program, Alabama Law Foundation, Alabama Civil Justice Foundation and Jones School of Law also were present to speak with attorneys in attendance.
