MONTGOMERY, ALA. (August 4, 2009) – Beasley Allen managing shareholder Tom Methvin, current President of the Board of Directors for Brantwood Children’s Home, was in Tuscaloosa today to accept a check presented to Brantwood by the Nick’s Kids Fund. The Nick’s Kids Fund is a charitable foundation established by University of Alabama head football coach Nick Saban and his wife, Terry, to promote and support children, family, teacher and student causes. The couple established the Fund in 2000, when they were at Michigan State University, and have maintained and supported the charity throughout their career at Louisiana State University and the Miami Dolphins.
The check presentation was part of a special luncheon event held at The Zone at Bryant Denny Stadium to honor Alabama’s children. Coach Saban was joined by the University’s mascot, Big Al, who helped greet the more than 200 guests in attendance, and thank contributors to the Nick’s Kids Fund.
For more than 91 years, Brantwood Children’s Home has served Montgomery and the surrounding community, providing a home in a loving family environment for young people displaced by abuse, neglect or other traumatic situations within their own families.
“Montgomery is very fortunate to have a facility like Brantwood,” said Methvin. “And it’s something that’s very special to me. Working with these kids, seeing the difference a place like Brantwood can make in their lives, it’s very rewarding. How could you not want to make their lives better?”
