Montgomery attorney Jere Beasley believes his firm has settled the largest personal injury and property damage claims arising from environmental contamination in U.S. history. A global settlement in excess of $700 million was reached last week for damages related to polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) contamination in Anniston. Company documents dating back to the 1930′s revealed that the company was aware of the health hazard of PCBs for decades and failed to warn of the danger. According to the findings despite this knowledge, defendants allowed the PCBs to be released into the air, waterways and food chain of the Anniston residents.
