Beasley Allen attorney Graham Esdale visits the Beasley Allen Report to discuss personal injury claims. He talks with show host Gibson Vance about what defines a personal injury or product liability case, and how individuals can pursue a claim. Graham worked as an assistant district attorney prior to coming to Beasley Allen. He says his work in the DA’s office prepared him to work with victims of personal injury or product liability, who are struggling with situations involving catastrophic injuries, or who have lost a loved one. Many times, when a personal injury lawyer investigates a case, he discovers a defective product is to blame.
Graham is currently working on cases involving Toyota Sudden Unintended Acceleration. In these cases, which involved the recall of more than 14 million vehicles worldwide, vehicles would suddenly speed out of control, often resulting in crashes, serious injuries and deaths. The auto manufacturer blamed the problem on faulty floor mats and accelerator pedals, but lawyers insist the problem is linked to the vehicle’s electrical system. Single vehicle accidents that result in catastrophic injury and death are very often linked to defective products, such as tires, seat belts, air bags, seats and even weak roofs that collapse in a rollover accident. Product liability claims also may arise from injuries from defective consumer products.
