PCBs or polychlorinated biphenyls are are mixtures of up to 2 chlorinated compounds which have been used as coolants and lubricants in transformers, capacitors, and other electrical equipment From 1929 to 1971 Monsanto dumped millions of pounds of PCB waste into rivers, sewers, creeks, and landfills.
