In this week’s episode of the Beasley Allen Report, host Gibson Vance interviews fellow Beasley Allen attorney Rick Morrison about tire safety and product liability. In his almost two decades as a Beasley Allen attorney, Rick Morrison has devoted his law practice to product liability cases, working to make products safer because of his passion for helping people. Gibson asks Rick to describe the dangers of aged tires and how to recognize that a tire is no longer safe.

Morrison informs viewers that tires can be hazardous in spite of their visible state, explaining the process of oxidation that occurs in tires over time and warning viewers that tires can fail if they are more than six years old. Morrison reiterates that tires can be dangerous even if they look new by telling the story of a client who was left paralyzed after a technician installed her new-looking spare tire that was later discovered to be 10 years old. Morrison further explains how to look for dates on tires to ensure that the tires put on your car are safe.

He believes that manufacturers telling service centers about the dangers of tire expiration is not working. He calls for governmental action to ensure that consumers are protected in the tire industry. To end the episode, Gibson asks Morrison about the dangers of recalled tires.
