Consumer Fraud

Gibson Vance, host of the Beasley Allen Report, welcomes fellow Beasley Allen attorney Roman Shaul to talk about how to deal with fraudulent insurance companies.

Almost any type of insurance can be handled fraudulently – life insurance, health care insurance, auto insurance, or property insurance. While health insurance is one of the most common areas in which our attorneys investigate cases of fraud, many types of fraud involve insurance that has been misrepresented to the consumer. A claimant may believe he is covered by his policy for certain benefits, but actually is not. Attorneys like Shaul focus their practice on making sure the consumer is not taken advantage of by insurance companies.

Shaul’s passion toward law derived from an experience when he was a senior in high school. His childhood home burned down in a fire and he remembers his family spending nearly three years combatting the insurance company to give them the money to rebuild, although the insurance company never complied. This is when Shaul amended his future plans from going to medical school to going to law school.
