What are defective airbags?

The airbag was designed as an additional safety precaution to be used with seat belts. Cars containing airbags were thought to be safer than those with just standard seat belts. The airbag was designed to deploy upon impact. The bag would fill with air and help to reduce the impact of the driver as they were thrown forward. Airbags however, are now known to cause injury. One of the most common causes of airbag injury is when the airbag deploys too soon or when it isn't needed. This can cause the driver to lose control of the car and become involved in an accident or involve other motorists in accidents.
