About Chris Colee

Chris started at Beasley Allen in June of 2010 and works in the Toxic Torts/Environmental Section of the firm.  He is currently involved in the BP oil spill litigation.

Chris received a B.A. in Criminal Justice from the University of Alabama, a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Nevada - Las Vegas, and his Juris Doctor degree from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in 2005.  While attending law school, Chris received best paper awards in Criminal Procedure, Legislation and Admiralty Law and was on the Dean's List. He was a semi-finalist in the law school's first annual J. Greg Allen Intra-School Mock Trial Competition.

After serving as a law clerk at the Montgomery County District Attorney's office while in law school, Chris began practice as a Deputy District Attorney in Montgomery, Alabama, in 2005. Chris started his own firm in 2007 and currently practices in a variety of areas including criminal, civil and probate.  He has conducted numerous criminal jury and bench trials as both a prosecutor and a defense attorney, as well as represented both the State of Alabama and clients in appeals in the Alabama Court of Criminal Appeals and the Alabama Supreme Court.

Chris is a Board Member of the Montgomery Volunteer & Information Center, which mobilizes volunteers and connects people, information and services to meet local needs and build a strong, caring community.  Chris has also served as a trial team coach for Trinity Presbyterian School teams competing in the YMCA Youth in Government Alabama Judicial program.  He is a member of the First Baptist Church in Montgomery, where he sings in the choir.  Chris is married to the former Crystal L. Beneda, and they have one son, Pearson.
