About Carlton Sims
Carlton Sims, a native of Montgomery, Alabama, joined the Beasley Allen environmental litigation section in October 2011. Carlton works primarily in the BP Oil Spill multi-district litigation, a consequence of the April 20, 2010, Deepwater Horizon explosion and subsequent oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Carlton was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in September 2011. He is a registered mediator on the Alabama State Court Mediator Roster.
Carlton received his law degree at Faulkner University’s Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in May 2011 with a Certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution. He was the Editor-in-Chief of the Faulkner Law Review and selected to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges, 2011. Additionally, Carlton received an M.B.A. from the University of Alabama in 2006 and B.A. in Economics from The University of the South in 1985.
Carlton worked 23 years as an executive in the construction industry. He was Managing Shareholder and Vice President of Sims Corporation, an architectural signage & lighting subcontractor from 1993-2007. He was a member of the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Committee’s Stadium Way-finding and Planning Group. Carlton is a licensed General Contractor in Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi. He is a licensed Electrical Contractor in Florida.
