About Roger Smith

Roger is a member of our Mass Torts Pharmaceutical Division. He is currently responsible for investigating and filing all of our Vioxx claims. He is also overseeing all aspects of the Serzone litigation; and he continues to oversee the administration of the Rezulin settlement, which was finalized in early 2004. Roger represents clients throughout the United States.

He was recently a guest speaker at the Litigation Skills CLE sponsored by the Arkansas Trial Lawyers Association in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Prior to joining the firm, Roger worked with a prominent employer defense firm where he spoke at numerous seminars designed for human resource professionals on subjects involving the Tennessee workers’ compensation system.

As in-house counsel for a publicly traded corporation, Roger held the position of Legal Counsel and Director of Regulatory Compliance. He also headed a 48-state corporate expansion project, involving both corporate and insurance regulatory issues.

Roger is an active member of the Alabama State Bar. He was recently re-appointed by the Alabama State Bar to the Task Force on multi-jurisdictional practice, which is currently studying the rules governing the unauthorized practice of law, admission by motion, and bar admission reciprocity.

Roger is married to the former Claudia C. Kennedy, of Vestavia Hills, Alabama. The couple have three children, Sarah Kennedy, Caroline Cecilia and Sophia Clare. Roger and his family attend St. Peters Catholic Church in Montgomery, Alabama.
